Refund policy

Overview

Thank you for shopping with stylealoud.shop.

This Return and Refund Policy explains how we handle cancellations, change-of-mind returns, faulty products, damaged products, incorrect goods, exchanges and refunds.

This policy is intended to operate consistently with applicable United Kingdom consumer protection requirements.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

For all return and refund enquiries, please contact:

Email: info@stylealoud.shop

1. Right to Cancel Eligible Online Purchases

For eligible goods purchased online, UK consumers generally have the right to notify a trader that they wish to cancel within 14 calendar days after receiving the goods, without providing a reason. After notifying the trader, the customer normally has another 14 days to return the goods.

To request a cancellation or return, email:

info@stylealoud.shop

Please include your order number, customer name, email address used during checkout and details of the product being returned.

2. Returning Goods

Once you have notified us of an eligible cancellation, the product should be returned without undue delay and within the applicable statutory return period.

Please contact us before sending any product back so that we can provide the appropriate return procedure and instructions.

Do not automatically send a product to an address printed on an original shipping label, because a carrier, warehouse or fulfilment address may not necessarily be an authorised return-processing location.

3. Condition of Returned Goods

Customers may inspect products in a manner reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

UK guidance recognises that online customers may handle goods similarly to how they could inspect them in a physical shop.

Where reasonably possible, returned products should include any accessories, components, manuals and packaging originally supplied.

Where permitted by law, a refund may be reduced if the value of an item has been diminished because the customer handled it beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect it.

4. Change-of-Mind Return Costs

For an eligible change-of-mind return, the customer will normally be responsible for the direct cost of returning the item unless we agree otherwise or applicable law requires us to bear the cost.

If an item is faulty, damaged before delivery, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fails to conform to the contract, return costs will be handled according to applicable consumer law.

5. Faulty Goods

If a product is faulty, not as described, not fit for its intended purpose where applicable or not of satisfactory quality, contact us at:

info@stylealoud.shop

Please provide your order number and a clear description of the issue.

Photographs may be requested where they reasonably assist us in assessing damage or another visible defect.

UK consumer law requires appropriate remedies for faulty or non-conforming goods, and government guidance confirms that customers may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement depending on the circumstances.

6. Short-Term Right to Reject Faulty Goods

Consumers may have a statutory short-term right to reject qualifying faulty goods.

Where that right validly applies, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law.

Nothing in this policy is intended to replace the remedies available under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

7. Damaged Goods

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at info@stylealoud.shop.

Where available, please retain the product and packaging and provide photographs of:

  • The damaged product;
  • Outer packaging;
  • Inner packaging; and
  • Shipping label.

This information can help us investigate shipping or fulfilment damage.

The absence of photographs does not automatically remove statutory consumer rights where a valid claim can otherwise be established.

8. Incorrect Products

If you receive a product different from the one ordered, contact us promptly.

After reviewing the order, we will provide an appropriate remedy.

Where an incorrect item was supplied by us, the customer will not be required to bear return costs where applicable law requires those costs to be borne by the seller.

9. Exceptions to Change-of-Mind Returns

Certain categories of products may be excluded from ordinary change-of-mind cancellation rights where permitted by law.

UK government guidance identifies examples including clearly personalised or custom-made goods, certain perishable goods and certain sealed goods that are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons after being opened.

These exceptions do not remove rights relating to faulty, damaged or misdescribed products.

10. Personalised or Custom-Made Products

Where a product has been manufactured or altered specifically according to a customer's individual requirements, the ordinary change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply.

This may include products that are clearly personalised or manufactured to customer specifications.

Statutory rights concerning faulty or misdescribed custom goods remain unaffected.

11. Sale and Promotional Products

Products purchased during sales or promotions remain covered by applicable statutory rights.

UK government guidance states that customers have the same legal refund rights for faulty sale goods as for goods purchased at full price.

12. Refund Processing

For qualifying online cancellations, UK guidance states that a trader must generally refund the customer within 14 days after receiving the returned item.

Where legally permitted, we may wait until we have received the returned goods or satisfactory evidence that they have been sent back before issuing a refund.

Once a refund is submitted, banks and payment processors may require additional processing time before funds appear in the customer's account.

13. Refund Method

Refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method unless another method is expressly agreed and legally permitted.

Where a customer is legally entitled to a monetary refund, we will not require that customer to accept store credit instead.

14. Original Shipping Charges

All standard shipping on stylealoud.shop is free.

Accordingly, there is normally no standard outbound shipping fee to refund.

If a paid premium delivery method is offered in a particular transaction, any refund of delivery charges will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

15. Exchanges

Where stock and operational circumstances permit, we may offer exchanges.

If the requested replacement product is unavailable, we may offer an alternative remedy, including a refund where appropriate.

Offering an exchange does not reduce statutory rights.

16. Cancelling an Order Before Dispatch

If you wish to cancel an order before it is dispatched, contact:

info@stylealoud.shop

as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to stop fulfilment.

However, order processing may begin shortly after a purchase is placed, so cancellation before dispatch cannot always be guaranteed.

Where an order has already shipped, applicable cancellation and return rights remain available.

17. Refused or Unclaimed Parcels

Refusing delivery alone does not necessarily constitute formal cancellation.

Customers wishing to cancel should contact us directly.

If an unclaimed or refused package is returned to us, any refund will be processed in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

18. Proof of Purchase

We may request reasonable evidence showing that a product was purchased from stylealoud.shop.

This may include an order confirmation, order number, transaction evidence or other appropriate purchase record.

19. Return Fraud or Abuse

We reserve the right to investigate suspected fraudulent return activity, product substitution, deliberate damage or materially false claims.

This does not permit us to deny legitimate statutory rights.
